The Hydromorphone (HMO) Surface Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Hydromorphone at the cut-off of 250 ng/mL.

Product Features

Hydromorphone (HMO), commonly known by the brand name Dilaudid, is a potent semi-synthetic opioid analgesic. Derived from morphine, it is primarily used to manage severe pain, such as post-surgical pain or advanced cancer-related pain, particularly when other analgesics prove ineffective.

It works by binding to mu-opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord to alter pain perception. While highly effective, hydromorphone carries serious risks, including respiratory depression, sedation, nausea, and a high potential for tolerance, addiction, and fatal overdose. Consequently, it is strictly classified as a Schedule ll controlled substance requiring careful medical supervision.
